Ceramic coatings are most suitable for anilox rolls that work with the doctor blade system. Ceramic based on Chromium oxide has very high wear resistance, which results in longer lifetime of the roll.


Blank roller is made out of high quality steel in accordance with all requirements of the customer. In order to start production,customer should provide a drawing of the roll. When making a new roll, our company uses a thin-walled steel or composite tube with the most optimal wall thickness to provide the minimum weight of the roll. Manufacturing technology ensures the necessary strength of the roll necks, absence of beating, and imbalances.

 

 

The next stage of the production of the roll is application of a ceramic coating with hardness of over 1200HV. At our facilities we spray coatings by Detonation spray system Ceram-3000 of our own design, and Praxair™ Plasma spraying system. For coatings, our company uses only powders and consumables supplied by Praxair ™.


After ceramic layer deposition of on the roll surface, it arrives on site machining, where undergoes precision grinding.

 

 

Next, with the help of two laser systems, a ceramic coated roll is subjected to laser engraving. For Anilox Engraving we use solid-state YAG-laser and a powerful CO2 laser. Given the physical difference that those lasers have upon ceramics, we have a greater flexibility to satisfy our clients needs. Our available screen-counts range from 40 to 400 lpcm and awide choice of ink transfer levels.

 

Ready engraved roll is then lightly polished (using equipment by Loeser™), that reduces excessive wear of doctor blade and gives amore accurate cell volume and uniform surface.

 

 

The final stage is a high quality control of finished products. All necessary measurements carried out on completed anilox roll, such as checking the screen-count and ink transfer volume. These measurements are done by computerized high-precision measuring equipment.The customer receives the roll together with the passport showing all the roll’s parameters. This data and all the engraving parameters are kept at our database and can be used at later stage.
